We are thrilled to have the opportunity with this LA-based International Choreographer, Chris Jones! He will be bringing his passion for dance to the Florida Keys for a full weekend of Master Classes for all ages right here at ISLAND GROOVE DANCE STUDIO IN BIG PINE KEY!

ABOUT CHRIS

Chris is not only a performer in many realms of the industry but also has a love for choreographing, teaching, and creative directing. He can be found traveling the world as a master teacher, choreographer and judge for many conventions, studios, workshops, & competitions!

As a dancer, Chris has performed and worked with numerous recording artist’ such as BRITNEY SPEARS, N’SYNC, J-LO, P.DIDDY, BUSTA RHYMES, DREAM, DESTINY’S CHILD, JESSICA SIMPSON, CHRIS BROWN, BEYONCE and appeared on worldwide tours, music videos, and award shows such as the MTV VMA’S, MTV MOVIE AWARDS, BET AWARDS, SOULTRAIN AWARDS, TEEN CHOICE AWARDS, PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS, AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS, GRAMMYS, & MORE! He also has credits as an actor & dancer in commercials and industries for companies such as PEPSI, NIKE, DISNEY, MAC COSMETICS, MACY’S, FOOTLOCKER, SAMSUNG, PANASONIC, McDONALDS, SONY, PLAYSTATION, ADIDAS, SKETCHERS, & REEBOK.

Currently, Chris can be found teaching and sharing his love of dance all over the world as well as at home in Los Angeles, CA. He is now in pre-production as a leading role in his newest dance film, the much anticipated sequel YOU GOT SERVED 2: WINNER TAKES ALL and just completed filming as a lead in the upcoming film TRIGGERED. He is also a choreographer & co-creater on the new CBS television series THE ACTIVIST.

THE EXPERIENCE - CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Throughout the experience, Chris will not only be teaching fundamentals, technique, & creativity, but he will also be staging a routine, jam session circle, mini performance for parents at the end of day 2 + Q&A for all dancers! Scholarships and specialty awards will be presented!

– MINI JAZZ FUNK –

(AGES 6-9)

This Mini Jazz Funk Masterclass will include a warm up, stretch conditioning, across the floor work, introducing improv, choreography, turns, leaps, legs, kicks. Please wear jazz shoes or black socks.

– MINI HIP HOP –

(AGES 6-9)

This Hip-Hop Masterclass for our Mini - HIP Hoppers and Beginners will begin with a warm up stretch, intro and foundational skills. They will learn popping and locking, combos, across the floor, beginning break dance technique, group work, and fun dance games. MiniHoppers will want to bring snack and water. Please wear sneakers.

– JUNIOR JAZZ FUNK –

(AGES 9-14)

This Junior Jazz Funk Masterclass will include dynamic warm up, stretch conditioning exercises, progressive across the floor work, discovering creative improv, turns, leaps, leg kicks, & choreography. Please wear jazz shoes or black socks.

– JUNIOR HIP HOP –

(AGES 9-14)

This Hip-Hop Masterclass for our Junior dancers will begin with a groove warm up, across the floor exercises, and choreo. Please wear sneakers.

– TEEN/SR JAZZ FUNK –

(AGES 13-18)

This intermediate/advanced Teen class will include a dynamic warm up, active stretch conditioning, across the floor work, improv work, creative choreography, turns, leaps, legs, kicks. Please wear jazz shoes or black socks.

– TEEN/SR HIP HOP –

(AGES 13-18)

This intermediate/advanced Teen class will include a groove warm up, foundations, pop & locking, waving, isolation exercises, choreography, staging, Please wear sneakers.

– ADULT *ONLY* JAZZ FUNK –

(AGES 18 & UP)

This Adult Jazz Funk class is open to all levels & will include a dynamic warm up, active stretch conditioning, across the floor work, & choreography. Please wear jazz shoes or black socks.
